Here are answers to questions I'm often asked:

How can you help me with my problem?

I will provide you with a safe, comfortable, non-judgmental space for you in which you might make sense of your individual circumstances and perhaps identify and resolve some issues you are having, develop greater self-awareness, increase your ability to cope whilst building regulation skills to deal with life.

How many sessions will I need?

Healing isn’t linear in that there is no timeframe to the process, each individual and their circumstance are unique to how much or little sessions they may need. I recommend trying 6 sessions to begin with before deciding on realistic expectations.

Are conversations with my therapist confidential?

Yes. Everything you discuss in therapy is confidential. There are certain exceptions to this for example unless there are safeguarding concerns or risk of harm to yourself or others or when discussing aspects of our session in supervision in which case personal details will be anonymised.

What to expect?

Once we have had an initial consultation and decide to work together, you will receive a brief form which details any relevant or useful information you would like to share with me including any goals or directions of where you want therapy to take you.

Please be assured that in all sessions the limits of our exploration or processing will depend on you and how you want to navigate the sessions. Client led and client focused the depth of the therapy is determined by you in each moment.

Can I stop therapy at any time?

Yes. There is no pressure for you to stay although it is recommended you schedule in an ending session.
You may also wish to take a break and return at a future date when you are ready to begin again.

How do I prepare for a session?

During online sessions please ensure you have a secure internet connection and are in a space that feels safe for you to talk freely and for any lengthy relaxation or meditation practices where the eyes may be closed without distraction.

It will be helpful to have space available to move your body – usually the size of a yoga mat is sufficient and to wear comfortable clothing which provides ease of movement within the body. If you have any blankets, cushions or pillows available, these could be helpful for you to find comfort and keep warm during any relaxation practices.

What if I have no prior experience in Yoga?

You do not need to have any experience in Yoga to come to session. Absolutely everybody is welcome.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule an appointment?

Please give a minimum of 48 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule a session as it gives me the opportunity to offer the session to someone else. Please note any missed sessions or cancellations with less than 48 hours’ notice will be charged for the full price of the session.
